The participants in Nansen Dialogue Network activities are recruited from the Western Balkans, from various ethnic and religious groups. The network strategically selects individuals who can have and institutional impact in their societies. It is our experience that dialogue and reconciliation can be effective when founded in existing, local institutions. Professionals have an arena for implementing their new knowledge and understanding, and can thus contribute to real change. The Nansen Dialogue Network’s participants are:

• Local political and administrative leaders and other representatives of local institutions;
• The education sector: teachers, parents, children, education authorities;
• Journalists;
• The NGO sector;
• Students and young people.
