H.E. Mr Arne Sannes Bjørnstad, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway in Serbia gave the key note speech for the “Building Bridges for Peace” as part of the panel discussion "Peacebuilding and Youth in Serbia” which was organised on the occasion of the International Day of Peace celebration. The panel was organised in partnership between Nansen Dialogue Centre Serbia, Research Center for Defense and Security and Rotary Serbia and Montenegro.
A part from the film "Only One Life" about Fridtjof Nansen, a humanist, polar explorer, the first High Commissioner for Refugees and Nobel Peace Prize laureate was screened in the opening part of the panel.
The panelists were:

- Miloš Tišma, Research Center for Defense and Security (RCDS)
- Gen. Prof. Dr. Božidar Forca, Faculty of Business Studies and Law
- Ivana Zdravković, Rotary Serbia and Montenegro
The panelists spoke about the importance of investing into conflict prevention, joint engagement of actors at all levels of society to implement concrete activities in order to contribute to a continued investment into peacebuilding. They underlined the following programmes: Education for Peace in all educational institutions and the importance of implementing United Nations Resolutions in reference to qualitative changes in the society.
Special focus was put on youth as key actors in peacebuilding. The panelists underlined the 2250 Resolution: Youth, Peace and Secuirty which was adopted last year. In the region, it was followed by establishing a Regional Office for Youth in the Western Balkans (2016) and the project "Educating Youth for Security" which is being implemented in Serbia. In addition to this, the importance of the 1325 Resolution: Women, Peace and Security was also emphasised and of the National Action Plan which is to be adopted next month. Rotary District 2483 Project - Peace Fellowship was presented as well, and new campaigns and projects regarding peace and reconciliation in the region were announced, which is also the slogan for our campaign "Building Bridges for Peace".
